Our Easter Holiday

This was a great holiday for us. We had so much fun with our family this weekend. We got to see both sides all in one weekend, which doesn't happen too often.  We had egg hunts with both sets of cousins and Emily really got it this year. It was so funny to watch Emily running around picking up eggs. Most kids would yell "I found one", Emily though kept yelling the color of each egg, "Purple!" she would yell as she found a purple egg in the grass. She did a pretty good job competing with the older cousins too. She is enjoying the candy, toy and books she got in her baskets.  Will had fun also, he found a couple eggs too and played with them for hours.

Although a great weekend, we had some difficulty with sleeping. Traveling with a 9 month old is not fun. Sometimes I wonder, why do we spend so much time and money in buying and dragging around a pack and play when the kid hates it. He ended up spending most of the night in the bed with us, but since he is not used to that, he would wake up and cry every time we would move. It turned out to be a long and difficult night and we got only a couple hours of sleep.

On the way home from Easter we had our first fast food in 40 days since we gave it up for lent.  We had to stop at a McDonald's on the way home to get something to eat.  I knew when we gave it up that when we came back to fast food it would be different.  Really, it was terrible tasting.  I can't imagine why I would choose to eat that anymore.  So I think I am saying so long to fast food forever!

The End of Sleeping In

I have been blessed with kids that love sleep.  From the time Emily came until now my kids have been late sleepers.  Even when Will was a newborn.  They go to bed early, around 7:30 or 8 and wake up about the same time the next morning.  So all these years when I am not working, I too sleep until 7:30 or 8.  I know, every mom's dream when their kids are this age.

This month I am going to change all that.  Sigh...  I don't really know why I keep coming up with all these crazy goals for myself, but I do.  This month, I have decided, I am going to set my alarm.  Ugh, that's like foul language at my house.  But I am planning on waking up before the kids and getting in a good workout every morning, whether it is at home or getting out for an early morning run.  I am excited to see how I feel at the end of the month.  Maybe its almost time for another half marathon?

A great morning

I always know its going to be a great and productive day when I wake up leisurely stretching and yawning at (don't be jealous) almost 9 am after having slept (really, don't be jealous) all night, uninterrupted.  Yep, 9 am, two kids still sleeping.  Lucky me!  So by the time Will, the first to wake, got out of bed, I already had my coffee in hand.  I had the kitchen clean, Will nursed, and the living room picked up by the time my late riser, Emily finally dragger herself out of bed at 10.  By 10:30 I had them all fed and the house swept and vacuumed. If only that happened everyday, my house would always be spotless.  I won't count on it.

We had to make a quick trip this morning to the pharmacy to pick up Emily's antibiotics for her first ear infection.  Sweet little girl is so mellow today.  Hopefully she will feel better soon after we get some medicine down her.
